The focus of this unit is the energy systems and technologies that are currently available. Aiming to help understand the causes of change, this unit develops interconnectedness, sustainable development and willingness to act, as target character and values. The objectives are to identify the environmental consequences of different energy production methods, as well as to cultivate values of sustainability and respect for natural resources,focusing on climate change. The proposed study time is two hours. PVGIS Interactive tool – the Photovoltaic Geographical Information System is used as an interactive tool for calculation of energy production, so that learners can simulate the connection between means of energy production and their potential impact on the Earth.
