The unit entitled ‘Evolution of the Earth’ aims to enable learners to grasp the mutual effect between the evolution of the Earth and the climate conditions. First, learners are provided with external resources, links and videos, in addition to a brief intro on the topic. In 1 hour of proposed study time, learners develop content knowledge on Evolution of the Earth and Climate Change. Interconnectedness and Sustainable Development are two target characters and value domains that this unit develops. The objective of the unit is to help learners identify the events that shaped earth’s climate over millions of years and help investigate the causes of ice-cycles through the planet’s history. In this context, learners will be able to integrate the data elicited through tools & technologies such as Earth Map, Earth Now and My Eco Track.
